Jack Russell Grooming Policies
Handling of Animals:
*All animals are required to be tethered during the grooming process, this is to ensure their safety both in the tub and on the groom table.
*Upon arrival and at commencement of services animals will be kenneled, this allows for sanitation practice and prevents potential comingling incidents with other animals.
*Jack Russell Grooming is a one-on-one style groom shop and will rarely house more than one family of animals at a time. Therefore, the prompt pickup of your pet is greatly appreciated. Any animals left for more than 4 hours will be charged a holding fee.
Vaccinations:
The rabis vaccination is required by state, however, because animals of different families will not be allowed to interact, Jack Russell Grooming does not require proof of vaccinations.
Severe Matting:
Cases of severe matting require two haircuts; this is for the safety of the animal. Cutting a dirty coat causes more wear and tear on equipment, requiring more frequent maintenance. The coat must be regroomed after the bath to achieve an even cut. Due to the additional time and stress on equipment, a DEMATTING FEE will be added to the price of the groom. This fee varies based on the size of animal and severity of matts and will be discussed at time of groom.
Behavioral Issues:
Dogs that are not cooperative or exhibit high levels of aggression may be subject to a DIFFICULT DOG FEE. This is for extreme cases of behavior, however if the stress of grooming triggers behaviors that lead to an unsafe situation for the dog or groomer, the groom will be paused and future arrangements for the animals grooming needs will be addressed.
Parasites:
If you know your dog has any parasites, please do not bring them until they are treated. If the fleas/ticks/lice are found on the animal, they will receive a specialized bath to eliminate the critters. This will be an additional fee. This fee covers the shampoo treatment as well as the time for extra sanitation. You will be notified before pick-up. All other parasites will be referred to veterinary care.
Accidents, Injuries, and Medical conditions:
If an incident or injury occurs during the grooming process, you will be informed immediately. Proper handling and safe care are our top priority, and we will perform the necessary measures to ensure your dog is cared for in the event of injury or medical emergency. In case of an extreme medical emergency the animal will be immediately transported to Platte Valley Veterinary in Severance, CO. Jack Russell Grooming is CPR, and first aid certified.
It is imperative for the proper care of your pet that all medical information be disclosed; seizures, heart murmur, skin conditions, allergies, collapsed trachea, ACL tears, etc.. This way we can accommodate your animal properly and safely.
Animal relief area:
The side of the home that is gated from the back of the house to the entrance is a great area to allow your animal to relieve itself. It is regularly maintained and separated from Jackie Russell’s dogs.
Cancelation and No Shows:
As a family run business, we understand that life happens, Same day cancelations may result in a $25 fee added to the next groom. No shows will automatically receive a $25 fee. An excessive number of cancelations may result in the inability to rebook services.
Quality Assurance:
Please contact Jack Russell Grooming as soon as possible if there is any concern regarding the groom. We look forward to maintaining the highest of standards and would like to address and correct any potential errors in a timely fashion, preferably 48 hours.
